Are you subbing?

There have been welcome changes to the abatement rules. Because of a shortage of substitutes teachers in 2021 retired teachers returning to the classrooms did not have their pensions reduced or abated. Arrangements for 2022 have not been address yet.

I had hoped to call by Town House Hotel, Naas today to see if any of our participants might be of standard to enter next year’s “Dancing with the Stars”. Dance Classes resumed this morning following the Christmas break.

Retired Teachers and friends are more than welcome to join the group for the next session in a fortnight’s time. Classes are every fortnight at 10.30am in the Town House Hotel (on the Newbridge Road)

On 16th May, the Ballycane retirees took off to Killinthomas Woods near Rathangan.

The day was amazing and as you can see the woods looked like a Monet painting. The forest floor was covered with bluebells and wild garlic. The wild garlic had the most beautiful white flowers and the fragrance of garlic was delicious. All we needed was a piece of steak and a knife and fork
