DANCE CLASSES

KILDARE RETIRED TEACHERS DANCE

I attended my first ARTI dance class last Wednesday. It was great fun, lots of exercise, and I learned 4 dances – The Pride of Eireann, The St Bernard Waltz, The Sweetheart Waltz and the Gay Gordons. I actually thought there were two waltzes – a slow and a Viennese – but there are lots of them.
Initially I got around the floor thanks to the patience of my partners and of course Brian’s clear demos and tuition. The proof of the pudding of course will be on the 4th October, the next class when I’ll see how many steps I’ll remember. I loved the cuppa before we started, the rests when head and body required them and the lunch at the end.

We are a Dublin based musical society and our membership is open to primary and secondary school teachers, 3rd level educators and retired members of these professions. We are getting in touch to tell you about our 2024 production and we hope that you can share some information with your members about the show itself and our upcoming auditions which may be of interest to some of them.

This year’s production is the Dublin premiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame which runs from March 12th – 16th 2024 in DCU St Patricks Campus, Drumcondra. Tickets are not on sale yet but we would be delighted to see some of your members in the audience. You might keep us in mind if you are organising any social events for your members as this is a great way to support a teacher special interest group and enjoy a night at the theatre!

In addition, some of your members may be interested in joining us so I have attached information below. Our auditions are on october 12th and we are holding an info night on September 28th in Club Na Muinteoiri, Parnell Square at 7.30pm. I have included all the details below and hope you can share with your members.

Many thanks,
